Without preservatives

Prolong the shelf life of food through an anti-microbial effect
Significantly restricts the activity of micro-organisms, preventing deterioration through bacteria – yeasts, mould and microscopic fungi. Natural preservatives such as sugar, salt and vinegar no longer satisfy the needs of producers who supplement with many artificial alternatives. Chemical preservatives are found across the entire food industry But it is good to choose products that dont contain these synthetic substances and do not unnecessarily overload our bodies .

The main preservatives used in the production of beverages include E211 sodium benzoate and E202 potassium sorbate The aplication of preservatives depends on processing technology , using of other methods for disposal of harmful microorganisms ( high or low temperatures , pressure treatment) as well as selecting the appropriate packaging. Every material - PET , glass, Tetrapak , requires a different approach and a different method of using conservation treatments .

We are protecting your health! ATo produce the freshness of fruit and vegetable for longer you have to ensure protection against undesirable microorganisms. As Rio Fresh juices contain NO preservatives you have to create a suitable environment by removing the effect of microorganisms. We achieve this through GENTLE PASTEURISATION, where the juice is exposed to the required temperature for a very short time.
Exposure speed is very quick to avoid losing any nutritional properties. This protects the health of the consumer and prolongs the shelf life through in a speciffc conditions (The aseptic filling process, sterile packaging and a consistently low storage temperature). This is the reason that you can find Rio Fresh products only in cooling boxes of stores .

Pascalisation is another form of pasteurisation based on the principle of high pressure pressing. Foods are exposed to pressures of 6000 bars in a chamber. The lifetime of the product extends from a few days to a few weeks. However, not all microorganisms are destroyed during this process, some are resistant to high pressure. Spores and staphylococcus’s can remain and may have even grown in an uncontrolled manner during the product lifetime
